A Carmignano the vines have been cultivated pre-Roman era, about 3000 years ago, as the pots and wine tasting cups found in Etruscan tombs. In the archives of the state of Florence was found a parchment dated 804: it is a lease contract as early as 1200 years ago in Capezzana and olives were cultivated vines for the production of oil and wine.
